The season of 2011/12 is ending with more than a bang. It is a thumping great explosion though some people out in The Alps can't quite believe all the snow. Here at PlanetSKI we can and love skiing in April. We are currently in Switzerland.

It has just four main lifts, a single restaurant, its pistes are narrow with little variety of terrain and when PlanetSKI visited the snow was icy and hard-packed. Yet we had one of our most interesting day's skiing of the winter. How come?

As dusk falls most ski resorts are long since closed. Not around Quebec where several ski resorts are bursting into life as interest in skiing at night becomes increasingly popular. PlanetSKI reports from the dark side.
