Andorra broadens its appeal
Saturday December 20, 2008 - Email this article to a friend
The Grandvalira and Vallnord ski areas are hoping to attract a greater number of non-skiers and offer people some different things to do in the mountains.
As part of a €20m (£16.6m) development there’s snowmobiling, ski biking, snowshoeing, ice rinks and a family orientated tubing slope. You can even have a 10-minute helicopter ride for just €58 (£46.58).
If you want to see what these other things are like then take a look at our Do Something Different Guide here at planetSKI.eu. The mountains offer far more than just skiing and snowboarding.
Andorra had a poor season last year with low levels of snow and a sharp reduction in visitor numbers from the UK so this development is an important new initiative as the Principality tries to woo non-skiers.
