Is he the luckiest snowboarder alive?

While riding off piste in Austria he ended up on top of a cliff perilously close to certain death. The 31- year old man clung on before the rescue services could pluck him to safety.
Kurt Welden was just moments away from tragedy after he went off piste on the Moltal glacier in Carinthia.
He stopped just short of the cliff and managed to hang on with the snow slipping away around him.
The rescue services took an hour to secure him due to his dangerous position and he was eventually rescued by helicopter.
The picture was taken by the recue services as they worked out how to rescue him and comes from the Austrian police.
