Celebrate in style

The champagne shoots skywards in Verbier on New Year's Eve in the ski resort's main square. Check out the amazing video as people get soaked! We also have some pictures from round the Alps of the celebrations.
The Place Central in Verbier is the place to be as the clock strikes midnight and ushers in another year.
Thousands and thousands of people descend on the square with fireworks and champagne; then the place quite literally erupts.
The video below was taken from the balcony of one of the resort's ski schools, European Snowsport, by one of our reporters who works for them.
So, how much champagne is going up in the air? What a waste, but quite a sight!
Below are a few other photos that PlanetSKI readers and reporters have sent in to us.
