It's just started to snow again

We're just writing the PlanetSKI weekly snow overview, but the snow has started again and we've received a video report from our content editor in the French Alps. It seems a shame not to put it up straight away. We are, after all, a news web site.
The full report will come later this week but in the meantime James Cove is in Chamonix and tells us it is pretty much the best conditions of the winter in the French resort.
"I've been chatting to a few locals and people who've been here all season and they all say the same thing - this is the best so far with good snow, low temperatures and not many people around," Cove tells us.
"The snow on piste is cold and grippy, while the off piste is not so bad either."
It is also about the best snow of the winter across many other parts of The Alps.
He is, rather strangely for him, doing less skiing this week and not going down some of the resorts famous off piste runs. Instead he is looking at some of the other activities to do in the Chamonix valley as he tells us in his blog.
Chamonix is just one of many areas having some great conditions at the moment.
Over in Espace Killy the snow is in very good shape with open, deserted slopes according to our PlanetSKI reporter who has sent us in the picture below from Tignes.
New snow, deserted slopes; heaven!
Meanwhile, in the PlanetSKI base resort of Verbier around 20cm of fresh snow had fallen in recent days and though it is not quite enough to cover everything it is certainly better than nothing.
So, for the time being, here is the PlanetSKI video snow report.
And since he filed that report on Wednesday evening it has started to snow, in big thick flakes.
Here is a photo from out of his window at the Hotel du Mont Blanc in the centre of Chamonix.
Looking good
Looks pretty good to us here in the UK office!
In addition don't forget to check out the Photos of the Week on the home page with some great images from the Chamonix Valley.
