Cuche breaks his thumb
Saturday January 30, 2010 - Email this article to a friend
It could rule the Swiss star out of the Olympics. He is a favourite for a medal after winning the Hahnenkamm in Kitzbuhel last weekend and he has had a good season so far.
Didier Cuche broke his right thumb during a Giant slalom race in Slovenia. He is now back in Switzerland and is having it operated on.
A statement from the Swiss Ski Federation says they will release information about his participation in the Olympics after the operation.
Last weekend he did the double as he won the downhill and the Super-G, as we reported here on PlanetSKI.
For the 35 year old it will almost certainly be his last Olympics.
The men's downhill is due to take place in 2 weeks time on February 13th so it leaves him little time to recover.
He broke his thumb after a fall when he hit a gate.
