Sunday January 31, 2010 - Email this article to a friend

The Portes du Soleil has 12 resorts all linked together. PlanetSKI set out on a ski safari to see what it was like getting round the main ones in a day. Check out the video.

The Portes du Soleil is one of the biggest linked ski areas in the world with 560km of skiing.

It boasts 280 runs, 201 chairlifts, 9 snowparks and 89 restaurants.

It straddles France and Switzerland in the Alps to the south of Lac Leman, the lake more commonly known as Lake Geneva.

So what's it like to ski all the main resorts in a day?

James Cove had a go and took his video camera too.

For further information about some of the resorts mentioned in the video see the link below to the whole of the Portes du Soleil ski area.
