So what?

In a bizarre comparison Sea France say they can transport 5 people across the channel for less that the cost of Ryanair taking a pair of skis to The Alps.
"With Ryanair charging from £40 each way to carry skis this season, it's now cheaper for holidaymakers to travel with SeaFrance than it is for just their skis to fly! SeaFrance crossings cost from £25 each way for a car and up to five passengers," says a report we have just been sent.
Well yes, but what a silly comparison in our humble opinion and we're not quite sure how skis can fly on their own.
No mention is made of the cost of a passenger travelling with their skis on RyanAir or the cost of people driving to the Alps paying petrol, motorway charges and depreciation charges on the vehicle. It usually takes a lot longer to drive than fly.
The story goes on to say that "SeaFrance operate Dover-Calais ferries and the £25 each way fee for a car and up to five passengers, means that, with a full car, you can cross the Channel for £5 per person each way. The company operates up to 15 daily return crossings."
We wonder what time the crossings are too.
