14,000 turn out for topless sledging
Saturday February 27, 2010 - Email this article to a friend
30 people braved the cold to take part; the rest came along to watch and it proved to be quite a popular spectacle. With heavy snow they battled it out on a 100m course.
The event took place in Braunlage in Germany.
There were plans to hold a similar event at another German town but officials banned it after the mayor said he was "offended" by the spectacle.
We reported on the plans on PlanetSKI earlier in the month after we spotted the story in The Austrian Times.
For more information and a few more photos of the event itself see this updated story in The Austrian Times.
