Girls on Tour - Part 3

So, what do girls get up to on a weekend break in a ski resort without their husbands and boyfriends? Morwen Williams reports from Chamonix, a resort with gentle skiing and quiet nightlife.

The next day we headed to Le Tour - a bit further from the centre of Cham, but rewarding for it's almost empty slopes that day.

Far too many button lifts for my liking - including one that went round a corner just when you thought you'd reached your destination.

More chairs, please - I don't like all the no-chatting-having-to-concentrate-holding-on stuff of buttons. And it's so embarrassing if you fall off in front of a competent 8 year old.

We had another full, sunny day, and had to be dragged away just before the last lift - or last minute preparations and hair straightening for our last night out would have been severely dented.

A rather incongruous (but very good) curry in Chamonix, and then back to the bar with the man singing in the same tank top from the night before.

Oh dear, oh dear.

Quick transfer back early the next morning to Geneva, and we were all back in our homes by lunchtime, ready for the cut and thrust of school runs and Blackberry-checking.

And shock, horror, relief - the man who "died" on the plane on the way out was alive and well on the plane on the way back.

I think we could say we made the most of all our time both on and off the slopes - watch out Cham, the girls will be back.

Lock up the straightners.
