Courchevel clean up

This spring a co-ordinated campaign is taking place run by Mountain Riders in ski resorts in the The Alps, The Pyrenees, The Highlands and even in Belgium.

This weekend it was the turn of Courchevel, amongst others.

Volunteers were asked to bring gloves and a rucksack and to meet at 8.30 on Impasse des Verdons on Saturday.

They were then split into different groups to clear up the mess at Couchevel 1550, 1650 and 1850.

Time for a spring clean140 events are taking place this year.

Last year 30 tons was picked by 3,500 volunteers in 55 resorts.

They found an interesting combination of rubbish, including cans, plastic wrappers, single-use products, bottles, paper, barrels, batteries, metal and cables, PET bottles and the ever-present cigarette butts.
