Who says skiing is over?
Wednesday June 30, 2010 - Email this article to a friend

We have just been sent some great photos of the conditions in Zermatt up on the glacier this week. We are just compiling our round up of conditions around the world but these seemed too good to hang on for.

It looks like a blue sky day in the middle of winter.

The pictures come from British skier, Sean Langmuir, who is out in the Swiss resort at the moment.

He is a ski coach and used to race in the British Team and competed in The Winter Olympics at Albertville in 1992.

Last week he was having a few beers with one of our reporters in Scotland who aksed him to send in a few picures when he got to Zermatt.

He is now there and up on the Klein Matterhorn coaching some children who are promising young racers.

Anyone for some skiing?Anyone for some skiing?

"Conditions are superb with Spring skiing all the way down to the Cervinia cable car or to the Trocknersteg restaurant. The top two T-bars are running," he says.

"It has been clear and hot all week here in Zermatt."

Langmuir runs the company, Alpine Training Centre, and a certain Alain Baxter is one of the company's coaches. The organisation specialises in coaching for professional skiers.

It is run out of the PlanetSKI home resort of Verbier, but offers clinics and coaching in other resorts too.

Langmuir is coaching in Canada and New Zealand later this summer.

There's been been some amazing snowfall in New Zealand and South America looks pretty good too.
