Spanish victory means naked ski
Monday July 12, 2010 - Email this article to a friend

The singer, Enrique Iglesias, made a rash promise at the beginning of the world cup: to ski naked if his team won. Well, they have lifted the trophy.

After 4 weeks of football and 62 matches it came down to just one more game on Sunday.

Spain against the Netherlands in the final.

The Spaniards were victorious and Iglesias has now to live up to his promise to go water skiing naked.

In a tightly fought game, that may well be remembered for the high number of yellow cards, the Spaniards won it deep into the final section of extra time.

The game was still deadlocked at 0-0 after 90 minutes.

It means we have a naked ski event!

We reported on his promise here on PlanetSKI.

Spain were not only the bookies favourites, but they were also been selected by Germany's football score predicting  octopus, Paul.

The animal has become an international celebrity for his 100% correct predictions in this year's championship.

So all we need to know Enrique is where and when.

In fact the only team to beat Spain was Switzerland; it heralded a few celebrations in the normally sleepy alpine country as we reported here.
