Saas-Fee ride cancelled

The hot weather has taken its toll and this weekend's event is cancelled. It's the second year in a row the weather has forced the event to be called off.
The Saas-Fee ride is one of the highlights of the summer competition season as the riders battle it out high up on the glacier at 3,300m.
Not this year though as the Saas-Fee Ride 10 event has been called off.
Last year it was rain that washed away much of the snow and this year high temperatures have meant the kickers could not be built.

The event is postponed until next summer so as to maintain a level of safety for the athletes and also not to compromise the professional skiing standard.
"It is important that freestyle skiing is portrayed in a professional manner and running the event with the athletes not being able to output their full level and style due to conditions does not do the sport justice," says the main organiser, Warren Smith.
Next year's event is booked in for July 16th.
Weather permitting.
