Slump in Ryanair profits
Tuesday July 20, 2010 - Email this article to a friend

They fell by over €40m to €93.7m in the first quarter of the year. The airline blames the volcanic ash cloud.

Ryanair cancelled around 10,000 flights and the Chief Executive of the airline, Michael O'Leary has called for a change in the rules regarding when flying is suspended.

He also wants the level of compensation payouts changed for incidents that are beyond the control of the airlines themselves.

The airline predicts it will soon return to its financial forecasts.
