Club Med opens in China
Friday August 20, 2010 - Email this article to a friend
The company is well known across the French Alps but not China. It's opening up in the ski resort of Yabuli. It could be the start of many more in the country.
Club Med has ambitious plans in China with a desire to open five centres over the next five years.
So what is Yabuli like?
We have already reported on the resort here on PlanetSKI.
The resort is just over 1,000km north of Beijing and used to be criticised for poor facilities.
However it seems the resort has big plans for the future and is going up-market.
"People are getting richer and we think the next step is that people, instead of only possessing luxury goods, will want to also enjoy new experiences," says Club Med's Asia-Pacific Managing Director, Olivier Horps.
Time will tell.
