The no-frills airline has unveiled its ski destinations for next season, but it has cut some routes for next winter. The flights though are also never quite as cheap as they first seem. We look at the prices.
The airline is offering 33 weekly flights from Stanstead to Cuneo, Grenoble, Lourdes, Salzburg and Turin. They all access ski resorts.
The cheapest price comes in at £24.99 one-way to Turin, but of course you will then have to pay extra for bags.
If you are taking skiing or snowboarding equipment too then the price goes up quite a bit.
We randomly selected a low-season flight to Turin departing from Stanstead on Saturday 8thJanuary and returning a week later on Saturday 15th January.
The return flight is £53.98 but then add on the online booking fee and taxes and it goes up to £113.34.
As a skier or snowboarder you will have some luggage.
Costs much more with luggageA small bag (15kg) is an extra £30 and a larger bag (20kg) is £50. If you want to take your skis or snowboard it adds another £80 to the bill. If you want priority boarding there's another £8 to pay.
We opted for a small bag and no priority boarding and the total cost came to £233.34 for 1 adult.
"Ryanair will once again get British skiers straight to the slopes for much less than any other airline. With great value ski fares starting from just £24.99 one way, we guarantee the lowest fares and no fuel surcharge to Europe's best ski resorts," says Daniel de Carvalho from Ryanair.
"Even those feeling the financial pinch this year can get away for a great week on the piste. With fares this low seats are bound to be snapped up so passengers should book their winter ski break as soon as possible."
The airline has already announced it will be reducing some routes this winter as we have already reported on PlanetSKI, though it is adding one to Bulgaria.
