Spring skiing In Greece - Konstantinos Valtadoros, Greece

It may sound strange to some people but the skiing in Greece is excellent at the moment. We have a special report with some excellent photos from a country more associated with sand than snow.
The snowstorms came in last week in Greek mountains, and added many cms of fresh snow on the slope for most of the ski resorts.
Most of them record over 1m of snow. Mt Pilio and Mt Parnassos had the most with over 2m of snow on their slopes.
The rest of them, have significant amount of snow, from 70-80 cm until 150-160 cm.
Snow conditions are quite good especially before mid-day since the high temperatures of the spring make snow little slushy after 13.00 pm.
Waiting queues are not so big as during the mid-winter months, the sun is shining, temperatures varies few degrees below or above zero, slopes are relatively empty, and everyone is happy.
Looks more like the Alps
Last weekend, one visit to Seli ski resort was obligatory since, the resort has the most snow since the season of 2005-2006.
Seli is the oldest resort in Greece and started operating at 1934.
One of the famous and beloved ski resort of North Greece, especially because of its proximity of Thessaloniki (around 100 km) and its wide blue slopes, where thousands of snow fans made their first step in the area of skiing or snowboarding.
The resort its also recognized for its excellent organization, perfect grooming, and its friendly and well-trained stuff.
It's divided in two parts, with eleven lifts in total, one of them is a double chairlift and the other ten, platelifts.
Good snow in Greece
The conditions during weekend were excellent (as in most of the resorts in Greece), especially before mid-day.
Visitors were not so many as expected. Better for us. !!
Waiting times were insignificant, and the slopes were in pretty good condition, especially in the upper part of the resort.
Only after 13.00-14.00 pm the low part of the slopes were full of corn snow, but that's expected in mid March (don't forget...we are in Greece).
All the above led to an epic weekend for skiing, and the general conditions give the promise for skiing (or boarding) until end of March, or perhaps even the start of April.
Looks inviting

I will let you know how it all goes from one of the countries in Europe not normally associated in people's minds with great skiing.
