Skiing in Scotland
The news coming out of Scotland is all about severe weather, travel disruption and other associated problems. Ski tourers have been turning it to their advantage. See the pictures we have been sent from our friends at Glenmore Lodge in the Cairngorms.

Despite the severe weather over the last week or so, the arrival of the cold weather and snow has lead to some early winter activity in the Cairngorms.
Last weekend close to 100 climbers made it into the Northern Corries and on Saturday were rewarded with an excellent day of sunshine and low winds.
It wasn't just the gully's that were climbed either, there was some excellent mixed climbing to be had, with some great sections of ice to be found.
It wasn't just the climbers that experience a great day out.
The best skiing of the year so far was also enjoyed.
Although Cairngorm Mountain only had a couple of runs open there was some excellent ski touring to be had, primarily to the east of Cairngorm; Ciste Mhearad and Coire Laogh Mor were both skiable and there was even excellent conditions right down into Strath Nethy.
Although the last few days have seen an increase in temperature and all of the snow disappearing around the lodge, there is still plenty of snow on the hills and in the Corries with more predicted towards the weekend.
