New Scottish air link to Alps

EasyJet has launched a route between Edinburgh and Grenobe during the winter months. It will fly on Saturdays and Sundays until mid-April.
The route gives access to some of the most poular resorts in France in the Tarrantaise including La Plagne, Les Arcs and Espace Killy. It also provides access to those in the south such as Alpes d'Huez, Les Deux Alps and Serre Chevalier..
"It is a great addition to our winter portfolio and strengthens our position as Scotland's major ski airline," said the EasyJet commercial manager for Scotland, Hugh Aitken.
"Current sales figures demonstrate that there is a real appetite amongst Scots to head off for a winter ski break."
EasyJet estimates that it will carry an additional 4,000 more ski passengers this season, with increased frequency in flights between Edinburgh and Geneva and the new route to Grenoble.
However the airline will have to deal with a percentage rise on skiers and snowboarders opting for an all-inclusive package holiday.
There are also the obvious economic worries and the fact that people may forego a ski holiday as belts are tightened.
