Using a touch screen with ski gloves
Thursday January 26, 2012 - Email this article to a friend
So how do you use a touch screen with your ski gloves on? It is a modern day problem and one company claims an answer. Adhesive strips that stick directly to a finger on a glove is apparently the answer.
It means people can use their hand held devices without taking a glove off.
Useful perhaps on a chairlift and a few other locations for us skiers and snowboarders.
They come from the company, iPrints.
The company says they cause no damage to the surface of the hand held device and they can be removed easily.
"I used to find it really annoying when I wore gloves and had to keep taking them off to use my smartphone," said Phil Mundy, inventor of iPrints.
"I searched around for an answer to use a touchscreen without taking my gloves off, but only found expensive, touchscreen-friendly gloves. The options are even more limited when it comes to ski-gloves, with prices that reflect the lack of choice I wanted a cost-effective alternative that allowed me to use my smartphone while still wearing whichever gloves I wanted."
iPrints use a safe adhesive strip to attach directly to the finger of any glove, instantly providing iPhone compatibility and allowing the wearer to use touch screen technology without removing gloves.
iPrints can be fitted to any pair of existing gloves, from every-day cotton or wool ones to ski and motorbike gloves.
Alternatively you could just take them off.
The product is available through the company's website priced at £5 per pack.
