By train to The Alps
Wednesday February 22, 2012 - Email this article to a friend

We have a range of friends across the slopes and within the industry. One is Daniel Elkan who runs an independent web site for train travel to The Alps. He has just written a blog for one of our partners, Pierre et Vacances, about his favourite French resorts.

Daniel Elkan's web site, SnowCarbon, has been going a few years now and gives practical advice on how to get to many ski resorts by train.

It is easier than many people think, though perhaps not as cheap as flying or driving with a full car.

It has other advantages - not least a lack of stress as the whole experience is often more relaxing.

In his blog Daniel lists his favourite resorts in France and if you are interested in his choices and how to get there by rail then see here.

He is obviously a fully paid up member of the 'Take the Train to the Alps Club" but it makes an interesting read.

For an earlier PlanetSKI article on taking the train see this related story written by another of our good friends, Iain Martin from Skipedia.
