The PlanetSKI Chairlift Chat...with Brandon Strong
Tuesday March 13, 2012 - Email this article to a friend

In our series of chats with people on chairlifts we hear from the man that maintains the private training superpipe of Shaun White in Northstar, California.

It is not many people that have their own private superpipe.

Shaun White does.

We caught up with the man that looks after it, Brandon Strong, on a recent visit to Northstar.

Now we wouldn't be doing our job correctly at PlanetSKI if we didn't follow up on unanswered questions.

Brandon seemed somewhat reluctant to tell us about how much water is used to create the superpipe for Shaun White.

We made a few enquiries in the resort and had a word with the vice-president of Resort Operations. It is 14m gallons.

For a couple more of our PlanetSKI Chairlift chats then see this one with the 16-year old US ski racing sensation, Mikaela Shiffrin.

Some are already likening her to Lindsey Vonn. We spoke  to her in the US training base in Europe.

And one with perhapsone of the the most influential people in the British ski industry, Mathew Prior, from TUI that owns Crystal, Thomson and First Choice.  We spoke to him in Sochi Russia
