The annual Dougie Crawford race is back to rise money for the British racer. The fun event is also a great way to sample the thrill of ski racing. It takes place at the Bearsden Ski Club in the West of Scotland Snowsports Club.
The Team GB racer will be training with the US Team this year and needs cash to fund the programme as he aims to compete at the next Winter Olympics in Sochi in 2014.
"I'm really pleased to announce that we are running the Dougie Crawford race again this year. We are keeping with the same great format, and the same weekend and very excitingly we are also keeping with the same sponsors, Canadian Affair," said his brother and organiser, Mike Crawford.
Like all the alpine skiers he receives no money from the National governing bodies and so relies on sponsorship and backers.
We have reported on his plight, and other British ski racers, in this earlier PlanetSKI story.
All are invited for the Dougie Crawford race; experts, intermediates and novices.
The emphasis of the day is on fun.
"We will be hosting the usual fun day of duel slalom racing open to all ages and all abilities and it will be awesome!" said Dougie.
It all takes place on October 27th and for full details and an application form then see here.
