Leona Lewis snowboards in Austria
Wednesday December 3, 2008 - Email this article to a friend

The singer took to the slopes of Iscghl after her concert in the resort. A planetSKI reader has given us the exclusive video pictures.

Now we are not going to pretend they are high quality or it gives us a great journalistic scoop, but it is Leona and she is on a snowboard and out on snow for the first time ever.

The X Factor winner was very happy to be filmed too.

She manages a few turns under the guidance of her Austrian instructor, Michael, from the local ski school.

Leona had a full day’s lesson on Sunday after her Saturday night concert and then took another lesson on Monday afternoon.

As you can see the conditions were less than ideal for a first timer but she seemed to enjoy it and told us that she wants to do more snowboarding.

"It's been great," said Leona. "The surroundings are wonderful and the snowboarding has gone really well. I haven't hurt myself and the snow is really soft when you do have a fall.
It's the first time I've ever snowboarded, in fact, it's the first time I've really been in the mountains and I absolutely love it."

In her news conference before her performance she admitted she had never been on the snow but had always really wanted to.  She has apparently been to the indoor snowdome in Dubai but she said that didn’t really count.

If you want to see the concert we have the exclusive web site footage of the concert in the videos section on the web site.

It was quite a performance.

Her version of the Snowpatrol song, Run, which she sang in Ischgl is now the fastest selling download-only song according to the BBC.
