They plan to do it next month after years of preparation. The 8 policemen are from the Indo-Tibetan Border Police.
It’s thought only one person has successfully skied down the whole of the 8,848m mountain, the Slovenian Davo Karnicar. He made it in October 2000.
A few others have set off from the top, but had to walk large sections of the descent.
There have been 17 failed attempts to successfully ski down Everest.
Last year the team of policemen was refused permission to climb from the Chinese side so they are doing it from Nepal.
In preparation the men have successfully skied down Mount Abhigamin (7,354m) in Uttarakhand and Mount Kasket (6,096m) in Ladak.
