When dinosaurs roamed ‘The Alps’

Giant dinosaur footprints have been found in a vertical rock face in the eastern part of Switzerland. But how did they get there?
The footprints cross a vertical rock face of the Piz Ela mountain in Graubunden.
They would have been made before the Alps were formed when the rock itself would have been flat ground.
Dinosaurs lived in the area before the mountains were formed and that is when scientists from Basel Natural History Museum believe the impressions were made.
The footprint Millions of years ago the area was part of the flat lands, but when the earth’s tectonic plates moved under what is now Europe, the Alps were formed.
The discovery of the footprints has excited scientists who believe they will tell them more about how the earth was many millions of years ago and how it evolved.
