Ban on topless photos
Friday September 25, 2009 - Email this article to a friend

The organisers of the Oktoberfest beer festival in Munich say photographers will not be allowed to take pictures of drunken women showing of their boobs.

Accredited photo journalists have been told not to take pictures of drunkenness or women lifting up their tops.

It is not thought any such ban will extend to the nearby Alps but it is just a rule from the beer festival as it tries to portray a more wholesome image and not show acts of drunkenness.

Munich is also putting up signs around the city warning drivers to expect drunken people to be staggering around the roads.

The Octoberfest was first held in 1810 and goes on for 16 days starting at the end of this month.  6 million people attend every year.

So are they sensible organisers or a bunch of killjoys?
