A Lithuanian software company has launched a new app, SKADI, that creates a personalised itinerary of a ski resort tailored to different levels of skier and snowboarder. NEW

The app, developed by Mobile Angels, provides both visual and audio guidance that includes all the mapped out ski runs and lifts and also helps users to find points of interest.

The app and ski resort maps can be used offline when skiing, cutting down on data and 3G usage, as well as meaning a longer phone battery life.

Maps have been specially created for each ski resort and currently the app covers major destinations in Austria, France, Italy and Switzerland.

More are to come, including Whistler this year.

"We've been developing our app for over one year now and we're really excited to be launching it into the market," SKADI CEO and co-founder, Sergey Cymbal, comments.

"SKADI is a great tool to get accustomed to a new resort for a fraction of the cost of hiring a ski guide. Now skiers and snowboarders can get unlimited freedom, all focused on their level of expertise."

SKADI launched in December 2016.

English, French, German, Italian, Russian and Spanish versions are available.

"No more concerns about finding your way around the mountain, getting back to the hotel in time, finding those awkward ski lift connections or meeting the kids at the right place after ski school," Cymbal added about the app.

Downloading the SKADI app is free and instead users pay for the service on a daily, weekly or annual basis. It costs €4.99 daily, €26.99 weekly or €49.99 annually.
