GETTING KIDS ON SNOW
Thursday March 23, 2017 - Email this article to a friend

National Schools Snowsport Week is coming up at the end of April and will offer school children the chance to ski and snowboard from £1.

Dry ski slopes and indoor snow centres across the country will offer school children the chance to ski and board during National Schools Snowsport Week (NSSW).

It will be the second ever NSSW and will take place from 24th - 30th April.

NSSW is backed by Winter Olympians Eddie 'The Eagle' Edwards, Dave Ryding, Aimee Fuller and Graham Bell and gives all children and schools the chance to have a go at snowsports without cost being a limiting factor.

"I started skiing when I was 13 and have lived and breathed it for my whole life. Trust me, it is worth giving it a go and having fun with your friends," NSSW Ambassador Eddie 'The Eagle' Edwards said.

"Speak to your teacher and get them to sign your school up to National Schools Snowsport Week."

The week is targeted at individual pupils or full classes at primary and secondary schools, as well as sixth form colleges across England.

It will give young Brits the chance to try one of these sports for the first time, or perhaps for those that have a new opportunity to do racing, freestyle or ski and snowboard cross.

Offers include a 60-minute beginner sessions for £1 at Runcorn Snowsports Centre, a 50-minute introductory session at Ski Rossendale for £4 per hour of skiing and 30 minutes of tubing for £7 at Sandown Snowsports Centre.
