PlanetSKI has been making a few videos at the Ellis Brigham ski tests in Ischgl. Sometimes things don't quite go according to plan...

Regular PlanetSKI readers will know that our editor, James Cove, and senior news reporter, Katie Bamber, we were out in Ischgl at the end of April testing next year's skis with the testers from Ellis Brigham.

70 or so pairs of skis in a week.

Tested for the PlanetSKI tests that we will be posting in the Autumn.

See here for their daily blog.

Some of the videos we have shown - the others we have not.

On the morning of our first shoot Katie's otherwise gorgeous face was blemished by, er, a small spot.

James ordered an immediate screentest:

And then the opening links were spoilt by a photobomber - who James proceeded to shout at. Wink

And in case you wonder about the high tech camera we use... it's an I-phone secured to a nearby pylon with duck tape.

We're saving up for a proper tripod.

No expense spared by PlanetSKI we'll have you know... Wink

And here is James ordering the photographer around for the pictures above - without realising the camera on his I-phone was still recording:

And it seems he is better on camera after a few drinks the night beforeWink

And when we do our interviews it is equally high tech.

With James using his orange inner glove to protect the microphone from the wind.

And is this the most boring ski video you will ever have the misfortune to watch?

They decided to shoot a short sequence on a steep slope as it was snowing.

With a neutral background and flakes falling it would look good they thought.

But they went to the wrong slope.

In fact it wasn't even a slope - it was a flat.

They say an army marches on its stomach and food is a vital part of any day's filming.

However the hard boiled eggs Katie liberated from the hotel breakfast buffet proved not to be quite so hard.

She picked up two that hadn't been cooked.

Yum, YumYum, Yum

And where did PlanetSKI learn such skills?

The BBC of course - James worked in BBC TV news for more than 20 years.

Much of it out on the road filming.

And he used to remember facts - it's a Head Supershape Magnum:

But the dynamic duo got there in the end...
