Hills Balfour has been named to market 'Brand USA' to help to increase travel and tourism to the United States. In summer & winter.NEW

The UK and Ireland represent the largest market for overseas travel to the US.

In 2015 there were 4.9 million UK visitors travelling to the US.

This was an 18 percent increase from 2014.

Most go in the summer but winter makes up a significant amount.

The most popular US ski resort with British visitors remains Breckenridge in Colorado.

We visited last winter on our 4-week North American road trip.

In September of last year, it saw a 4.8% decrease from the same month in 2016 - down to 3.5 million.

Hills Balfour will work with Brand USA in the UK and Ireland to promote the country for visitation and increase those figures.

"We look forward to working with Hills Balfour in order to build upon our strong presence and relationships in-market with the travel trade as well as the media in the UK and Ireland to promote travel to the United States to, through, and beyond the gateways," said President and CEO of Brand USA, Christopher L. Thompson.

"After a fiercely competitive pitch, we are excited to have the opportunity to support Brand USA's mission and tell the amazing stories of unique and exceptional travel experiences available in the USA," said the CEO of Hills Balfour, Amanda Hills.

"As market leaders, our innovative approach to destination marketing will keep the United States at the forefront of the global conversation," she added.

Hills Balfour also works with the ski travel operator, Inghams and the UK's biggest ski travel agent, Iglu Ski.
