Warren Miller film on release
Thursday October 15, 2009 - Email this article to a friend
The 16th film is on tour in the UK later this month. It visits 40 towns and cities across the country. Behind the scenes there is a fascinating legal fight going on.
The films are not actually made by the man himself, he is now 84, but they come with his name and stamp of approval.
He sold the brand name a few years ago though there is now a legal dispute going on after he appeared in person in another ski film made by Level 1 Productions.
See the PlanetSKI story 'Battle rages over Warren Miller name.'

We are currently looking at the legal dispute and it does appear to be a "David v Goliath" battle as a large international company takes on a small film maker and the man himself.
We will bring you that story when we have researched it fully, but of course there are always two sides to a story.
So, what about the latest film from the Warren Miller Entertainment Group?
The latest film is called Dynasty and is narrated by the Olympic gold medal skier, Jonny Moseley.
It covers skiing trips in Norway and China with clips from some of the old films.
A few of the top riders in the world take part and it is a feast for the eyes with dramatic shots and stunning scenery.
However, some people do think the Warren Miller films are now a bit long winded and more than a touch self-indulgent.
Whatever view you have they have achieved cult status for some people and are a good way to get you in the mood for the coming season.
For a trailer of the film see the You Tube video below and make your own mind up.
And if you are interested here is the trailer for the Level 1 productions film which is not associated with Warren Miller Entertainment Group as stated at the beginning of the trailer.
Streaming/buffering is a bit slow but bear with it as it is fantastic and well worth a look.

We also look forward to bringing you the story of the battle between Warren Miller Entertainment Group and Level 1 Productions once we have consulted our legal team.
