Tagging the kids

Parents can now use a GPS system to keep track of their kids at 2 resorts in North America. They can see where they are and where they have been throughout the day.
The service is being offered by Intrawest in Tremblant, Canada and Steamboat Springs, USA.
The Flaik system will make it possible to locate children in real-time using an arm-band provided with a GPS system.
As well as peace of mind for the parents, it will be possible to look back on the day spent on the slopes from a computer terminal.
Everything is recorded on the system's web site, so that the kids and parents can view the runs and lifts used during the day.
They can also obtain statistics such as speed, number of trails done in a day, maximum speed reached and distance covered.
This will give parents the opportunity to see how their children are progressing and provides added reassurance for instructors too so that if a child gets lost they can be found immediately.
