NEW NEXT WINTER
Tuesday July 18, 2017 - Email this article to a friend

Dozens of new ski flight routes have already been announced for the upcoming season, and BA has just added two more from Manchester.

British Airways will fly to Salzburg in Austria and Chambery in France.

"After a successful new summer programme from Manchester we have decided to continue our leisure flying with direct services to two of the most popular winter break destinations in Austria and France," BA general manager customer and commercial, Luke Hayhoe, said.

The flights will operate on Saturdays from mid-December until April 2018 using Embraer 190 jets with one-way fares starting at £49.

And on the summer side, seven were launched from Manchester in May and run to October.

And from within the UK:

In December BA will resume a weekly flight to London City airport, on top of its 10 daily return flights between Manchester and Heathrow.

The new LCY flights are aimed at business travellers, running northbound on Fridays with the southbound return on Sundays.

And the best thing... The aircraft has two seats on each side of the aisle, meaning there's no dreaded middle seat.

The BA announcement comes right after easyJet announces that it will launch a new route to Geneva from Southampton this coming winter.

To start flying mid-December, there will be flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays starting from £39.99 (one way).

Jet2 has recently released that it will re-introduce ski flights from Belfast International Airport.

The airline will fly direct from Belfast to Salzburg and, for the first time, Verona.

Both destinations are exclusive to Jet2.com and will run to Salzburg from 30th December and Verona from 6th January through to the end of March.

"It's fantastic to see [Jet2.com] continue their recent expansion drive from Belfast showing their commitment to the Northern Ireland market and strengthening their winter programme whilst ensuring maximum choice for local ski customers," Belfast International Airport MD, Graham Keddie, said.
