FOUNTAIN OF YOUTH - SALOMON TV

Salomon TV is back for the winter, and the first installment of the fabulous mini-series follows legendary freeskier Mike Douglas to Japan.

Mike Douglas, aged 47, travels to Japan in search of the secrets to perpetual youth and longevity.

Between powder skiing sessions, he explores the Japanese diet, fitness, onsens and temples.

The most profound advice, however, comes from a day spent with Mt Everest age record holder, Yuichiro Miura and his son Gota.

Yuichiro Miura was the first to ski down Everest (documented in a 1975 film), and at the age of 80 he became the oldest person to summit the mountain in 2013.

Yuichiro's father was a legend too; he logged 100 day ski seasons until his death at age 101.

At 99, he skied from Chamonix's Aiguille du Midi.

So, what is the secret to long life?

SATURDAY 7TH OCTOBER

CHOICE will be dropping on to our screens this Autumn 2017.

The video Blurb says ... Life is made of choices - the choice to get out of bed, ignore the alarm clock or throwing it out of the window!

Other life-choices include going to Uni or college, finding a job or simply crashing on your pal's floor.

With the movie "CHOICE" RAD Movie Production wanted to emphasise that whatever decision or choice is made will have consequences - so they suggest the choice is made wisely.... that's all a bit profound for a ski-film!

Featuring: William Arnold, Yannick Imboden, Pierre Clivaz, Jonas Zbinden, Roberto Zumstein, Ariana Bellwald, Tim Basler, Markus Stoffel, Valentin Zimmermann, Matthias Schwestermann, Jannick Jungo and Friends.

WEDNESDAY 4TH OCTOBER

FOLLOW THROUGH

So, is Caroline Gleich inspirational, a social media star, a role model or a model masquerading as a mountaineer?

At sixteen, she stumbled upon a copy of the classic guidebook The Chuting Gallery.

The guidebook lays out a set of 90 ski mountaineering lines across Utah's Wasatch Mountains, that are difficult and dangerous.

When she first said out loud she wanted to ski them, she was met with laughter. "Maybe it was because I was five feet tall, or I was a little blonde girl, but I remember that clearly - and it didn't feel good" says Gleich.

Building her skills over a decade, Gleich sets out to complete her vision and become the skier she dreamt of being.

Follow Through is a story of loss, belonging and desire for respect.
