FRIDAY 12TH JANUARY

CELEBRATING RUSSIAN NEW YEAR... THE RUSSIAN WAY

These guys are celebrating New Year in Russia in the traditional way with vodka shots, venison and snowboarding.

This year the Russian celebrations took place on 4th and 5th January 2018.

They are snowboarding in the Khibiny Mountains in the Russian Arctic circle, where the snow looks deep.

..... and judging by the amount of snow caught on the chairlifts, we get the feeling that it is VERY COLD!

THURSDAY 11TH JANUARY

THE LAST HILL (UNTIL THE NEXT ONE)

Searching for an honest adventure right out of their back door, a group of skiers and snowboarders travel south from Reno, Nevada on bicycles loaded down with sking and camping gear.

Their sights on Mt Whitney and the endless backcountry ski terrain along the way, these off-the-couch bikers hilariously struggle to keep both wheels moving along the iconic Highway 395 from a new angle: the Sierra saddle vista.

A Patagonia film produced by Max Hammer with Warp Wave.

WEDNESDAY 10TH JANUARY

A PERUVIAN ADVENTURE - Curvas Peligrosas (English Subtitles)

OMG! It's very high altitude skiing and some of the terrain is so steep it looks as though these guys were skiing down the side of a cliff.

After having made some steep descent in the Mont Blanc Massif (Austrians in Les Courtes, south face of Aiguille du Moine ..) the 3 skiers Frederic Gentet, Yannick Boissenot and Stephane Roguet decide to travel to Peru to discover some "Curvas peligrosas" ... some dangerous curves!

The peaks of Mont Blanc Massif where the trio are used to skiing are around an altitude of 4,000m to 4,500m, the peaks in Peru were a different story at a heights of 6,000m, presenting different sorts of problems.

It's impressive.

(Yannick Boissenot provided additional footage for Speed Riding At Night in Chamonix featured below in 8th January video posting)

(additional footage was provided by Yannick Boissenot who features in the film above - Curvas Peligrosas (10th January Film)

FRIDAY 5TH JANUARY

TSIRKU - DIRECTORS CUT

Both stunning and insane!

Watch these guys dropping into the Alaskan spines using ropes.

Snowboarder Ralph Backstrom and skiers Hadley Hammer and Sam Anthamatten, set out to tackle the fabled Corrugated spine lines of the Tsirku Glacier.

Their destinatuion is deep in the Saint Elias mountains where Alaska, British Columbia, and the Yukon converge.

It is is a place most skiers and snowboarders only dream of visiting.

Brought to you by The North Face and Sherpas Cinema, Tsirku is a 'big-mountain' adventure ski film.

"It's the craziest line, I've ever ridden in my life," says Ralph Backstrom with a massive grin on his face.

We say WOW!

MONDAY 1ST JANUARY

PERFECTING A PISTE

Grooming a ski slope to perfection is an art, much of it is done overnight and sometimes in difficult conditions.

And this is how they do it in Tignes.

YEARNING FOR TURNING VOL6 - CARVE ODDITY

Carve Oddity is a collection of favourite moments from the 2016/17 season in black and white.

It includes riding deep powder in the forests of Japan, going on weekend mini-missions to find new zones at tiny Swiss resorts, slashing chunky slush in the halfpipe and wave-park up in LAAX, and finding surprisingly good powder in the Engadin valley late in the season.

Despite difficult snow conditions the team manage to have a whole lot of fun doing what they enjoy most... simply snowboarding.

Featuring: Nicholas Wolken, James Niederberger, Atsufumi Mizuno, Thomas Stöckli, Aaron Schwartz, Raphael Rocha, Stephan Maurer and Luca Crivelli.

ICEFALL SNJÓKOMA

In February 2017 a group of 6 led by accomplished photographers Benjamin Hardman & Dylan Furst, gathered to capture the beauty of Iceland's unforgiving winter.

This is one perspective of the journey.
