Bansko gets environmental checks

The Bulgarian ski resort has been inspected by government officials to check it hasn't broken environmental rules. Some claim it is bigger than it should be and many, many trees have been chopped down.

Largest UK dry ski slope saved

The future looks brighter for the Hillend slope in Edinburgh after a council rescue package gets agreed. £600,000 is being put up and some land sold off. All it needs now is more people to use it.

Councillors in Scotland will debate a rescue plane for the Hillend slope today, Friday. 27,000 people have signed an online petition to keep it open.
