Snow in The Alps (Saturday February 26, 2011)
But how much, where is it and is it as good as some people are saying? There has at last been snow, it is very welcome and it is continuing to fall. Swiss win Hahnenkamm (Monday January 24, 2011)
The Swiss racer, Didier Cuche, won the Hahnenkamm race in style on Saturday. He has now won it four times and is also the oldest man to win a World Cup race. The event was overshadowed by a serious accident during training on Thursday.

Austrian racer critical after Hahnenkamm crash (Friday January 21, 2011)
The Austrian racer, Hans Grugger, had an horrific crash in a practice session in Kitzbuhel and has undergone emmergency surgery after the high speed accident. He fell and slid down the mountain just after the start. The video is not for the squeamish.

Get set for the Lauberhorn (Sunday January 16, 2011)
It's the blue-riband event of the World Cup calendar and the Men's Downhill race takes place on Saturday. The Lauberhorn is the beast of the racing circuit and whoever claims victory stands in good stead for the remaining races.

More snow please (Wednesday January 5, 2011)
Pretty much everywhere needs it. The excellent snow we all had for Christmas is getting thin and hardpacked. The warm temperatures have dropped and much is pretty icy. Guess what though? Some snow is forecast.

Festive frolics in the Alps (Friday December 31, 2010)
Christmas falls dangerously near to the start of the season for many European resorts. "Will there be enough snow?" is a question that echoes around the mountains. There were no worries this season though it getting a bit thin now.

About the best Xmas we can remember (Thursday December 30, 2010)

Even my teeth are cold (Saturday December 25, 2010)
It has warmed up a bit in The Alps but teeth were chattering a few days ago according to one PlanetSKI reader in the Swiss Alps. It was -20c. The snow conditions though are now ideal for Xmas according to our readers and reporters around the mountains. Check out the PlanetSKI snow report.

Vonn and Riesch crash in Courchevel (Thursday December 23, 2010)
Slalom is always a dramatic event, but not often in quite the same fashion as in Courchevel with the Championship leader and runner-up both crashing out in the first run. PlanetSKI was in Courchevel to witness the action.

Anger as UK Sport cuts all ski and snowboard funding (Wednesday December 22, 2010)
UK Sport has ended all funding for skiing and snowboarding leaving Britain's top racers without vital money. Bobsleigh, skeleton, short-track skating and curling all get extra cash. The news has caused outrage in the ski community.

Travel chaos for Xmas skiers (Tuesday December 21, 2010)
Some skiers and snowbaorders are making it to The Alps. Most have have tales of horrendous journeys as the snow disrupts travel in the UK and across Europe. Once they arrrive it is looking pretty good though.

Courchevel prepares to host the world's best (Monday December 20, 2010)
The Women's World Cup tour moves on to the French resort on Tuesday for the first time in 31 years. The very best racers in the world will be battling it out in the final race before the Christmas break. The conditions in the resort are perfect.
