CRYSTAL OFFERS ZELL AM ZILLER NEXT WINTER
3rd September 2019
Crystal Ski Holidays already sells more holidays to Austria than any other country & that looks set to grow next winter.
Zell am Ziller in the Tirol is home to Austria’s longest continuous downhill run.
It is is 10km and descends 1,930m in height from start to finish.
Not only is the resort new for this winter, it is also a new ski area for Crystal Ski Holidays.
The Zillertal Arena covers four mountains and is a good area for intermediate skiers with over 60% of the area covered with red runs.
There are also six snow parks on offer and the area has 75% of slopes covered by snow cannons.
PlanetSKI visited the area last winter, skiing some of the other valley resorts, so follow the links for further details to see the attractions of the resorts in the Zillertal Valley.
We were skiing in Hintertux at the end of the Zillertal Valley into May:
And here is more on the area:
Earlier this summer Crystal Ski Holidays added the resort of Hopfgarten in the SkiWelt area in the Tirol to its programme.
Crystal Ski Holidays offers holidays to 13 ski destinations in over 120 resorts from 21 UK airports including flights, accommodation and transfers as standard.
Austria is a growing favourite with Crystal clients and is now its most popular destination pushing France into second place place.
“We are delighted to be adding to our Austrian programme for the coming season, said theChris Logan, Managing Director at Crystal Ski Holidays, Chris Logan.
“We recently announced the resort of Hopfgarten for winter 2019/20 and with the addition of Zell am Ziller we now have 40 resorts for our customers to choose from when booking their ski holidays in Austria this winter.
We are always looking to find resorts that will appeal to our customers and we think Zell am Ziller will be a very popular addition to the programme. Not only are we introducing a new resort, but this also means we have added a new ski area, Zillertal, to the programme for the upcoming ski season.”
Zell am Ziller is a traditional Austrian village with plenty of shops, cafes and a decent après scene.
The four valleys offer great skiing with 143km slopes and three funparks.
Snowboarders can enjoy the popular hotspot of Gerlos.
For beginners there’s a large, wide gentle area, perfect for developing skills before hitting the main slopes.
When not on the slopes, there are plenty of non-ski activities for customers to enjoy.
These include ice skating, tobogganing, snow tubing and cross country trails.
The resort is just over an hour from Innsbruck Airport or a three hour transfer to Memmingen Airport which is a new airport for Crystal to support the growth in Austria for this winter.
There are public transport links to Mayrhofen and Innsbruck and a free bus service from Zell am Ziller to nearby ski resort of Konigsleiten.
The Hotel Neuwirt is a 3* half-board property.
There’s a ski room with heated boot rack and when relaxing a small library, lounge and sports bar to enjoy.
The a la carte restaurant serves up traditional dishes.
