LIVERPOOL HEADS TO VERBIER FOR FOOTBALL & SKI EVENTS

The football club and the Swiss resort have teamed up for LFC weeks in April. So, what’s it all about?

This is the second year of a partnership between the two world famous brands.

Liverpool is running away with the Premiership this season and is arguably, perhaps, the best team in the world right now.

Verbier is one of the most famous resorts in the Alps and is at the peak of its game with excellent current snow conditions.

The LFC weeks run from April 6th to 19th with some 5-aside football matches on the slopes, screening of matches and a gala dinner.

The two matches to be screened in participating bars will be Liverpool against Aston Villa on Saturday 11th April and against Brighton on Saturday 18th April.

Two former players, Sami Hypia and Vladimir Smicer, will be at the events.

They were both Champions League winners and played in the 2005 final in Istanbull.

That game!

There is also a whole bunch of other events and activities.

“Verbier is proud to be the Official Alpine Destination of the Liverpool FC team,” said a statement from the resort.

“Our partnership is based on our shared values to empowering local communities – Dignity, Ambition, Unity and Commitment”.

“We’re proud to partner with a club of legend such as Liverpool FC,” commented Laurent Vaucher, CEO of Téléverbier, the resort’s lift company.

“Our operation aims to make our resort known and to interest the fans through new experiences.”

Now PlanetSKI must declare an immediate interest as our roving reporter, Max Cove, has been a Liverpool fan for as long as he can remember.

He was lucky enough to be invited to Anfield by Verbier earlier this season as Liverpool beat Southampton 4-0.

Rather surprisingly Max is putting himself forward to cover the LFC weeks on PlanetSKI.

Seems to us he might well be the man for the job.
