2 killed in Austrian Avalanches

The 2 people, both German, were killed in separate accidents

The first was a snowboarder in his early 20s who was hit by an avalanche on a closed slope in the Bregenzerwald region. The person he was with was partially buried in the slide but managed to free himself.

Skiers and snwboarders are being urged to obey all the signs and never ski a slope that is closed.

In the other incident a man in his 40's died in the Kleinwalsertal area.

In Switzerland, 4 people have died so far this winter. A snowboarder in Les Diablerets and a skier in Verbier we have already reported on.

3 ice climbers were hit by an avalanche in Pointe Ronde in Trient and one died after being buried under 2 metres of snow.

Meanwhile a snowshoer was killed by an avalanche in Aplstein on December 14th.

In Italy at least 3 people have died so far this winter after all the heavy snowfall.
