Easter is upon us, and so is Spring. But skiing & snowboarding is far from over: Here's what is to come for the rest of this sweet season.





Spring is a fantastic time of year to ski.

Warmer temperatures, lots of sunshine and longer days mean more skiing, more apres activitiy, long lunches and entertainment put on by the resort.

Here's a diary of what will be on where in resorts through the Alps during March, April and even May for the final hurrah of Winter 17/18.

And not to forget the super deals out there for skiing still to be had this season, of which we've collected some of the best here:


In Italy's Aosta Valley:

31st March in the Breuil-Cervinia ski area there is a cross-country skiing race around town.

The central street of the village becomes a snowy arena where some of the world's ski sprinters come to compete.

Easter Monday, 2nd April there's a craft fair in Courmayeur.

Local crafts, wood and stone household decorations and garden sculptures, toys, basketwork, handmade clothing...

Find the Jardin de l'Ange area for the Sant'Orso di Aosta and Donnas fairs, and more entertainment besides.

Cervinia is having a closing party in the snow park on 25th - 29th April - See more here

Hardbooter's Day in Courmayeur is coming up:

A retro 80s celebration of monoskis, alpine boards and more.

Gressoney is hosting a spring barbecue on 2nd April with many sunny celenrations on the agenda:

Arc 1950
in the Paradiski area will close on 28th April, 2018.

Arc on stage - 7th - 14th April

For a whole week, Arc 1950 will host shows and music concerts at the end of the ski day for everyone to enjoy.

The Great Sale - 14th - 21st April

Find all sorts of great deals on the world's top winter clothing brands.

Closing Week - 21st to 28th April

Celebrate the end of the season on the village's sunny terraces with barbecues and concerts.

Xtreme Verbier - The grand finale of the Freeride World Tour is just around the corner:

Witness the climax on 31st March - 8th April in the Swiss resort.

In each of the four categories the world champions will be crowned.



Val Thorens

With over 2.5m in the resort, which sits at 2,300m and 3m at 3,200m, Europe's highest ski resort is a no-brainer for spring skiing.

Open until 8th May it's a long season.

Ski touring hits its stride at this time of year.

Val Thorens has some events on for those wanting to put it to the test.

The Défi Péclet United - 26th March, 18th April, 25th April

The Club des Sport is organising friendly ski touring races in resort on these week days.

Starting at 5.30pm, competitors skin up the 4km Tête Ronde slope with a 650m vertical climb.

An aperitif at the Alpen Art follows the descent - race entry costs €15.

Vienne Jazz Festival - 11th &12th April

Artists fill the slopeside terraces and restaurants.

It's jazz, soul and pop for the weekend with 12 gigs throughout the resort.

In the evening the church will host even more music. 

Festival'Tho - 27th - 29th March

Three days of electro music and outdoor fun.

On the programme this year from the international electro scene: Lost Frequencies, Joris Delacroix, Jabberworky, Norman Doray, Arno Cost, Yuksek...

Apothéose Days - 1st - 8th May

A week of celebrations, entertainment, shows and a chance to try out the more unusual mountain activities

Then there is the new ski touring run that opened earlier this season.

A gentle climb and a rich history of Val Thorens since its 1971 launch.

The route in the Plein Sud sector is accessible free of charge; It is accessible by ski touring or snowshoes, 1.5km long with a 280m vertical climb.

The Refuge du Lac du Lou sleeps 32 and costs €59pp for a night half board.

This coming weekend on Easter Sunday will see Les3Vallees big Enduro race.

Families, friends, pros, amateurs get yur skis and boards for the biggest and most fun challenge in the mountains this spring.

Zermatt's epic music festival, Zermatt Unplugged, is in its 11th year.

10th - 14th April is when it's on in the glamorous Swiss resort.

Kodaline, Emeli Sande, Norah Jones, The Kooks, Jake Bugg and Ronnie Scotts All Stars are among those playing and it promises to be a great end-of-season party.
