Alpbachtal in the Tirol has gorge walks, black hikes and easy going trails to tempt any kind of walker this summer. NEW

Ramblers, families, hardcore hikers assemble.

The Alpbachtal Seenland has the views, the terrain and the comfortable restaurants and accommodation to make for a perfect summer holiday.

Hiking tours from hour circuits to multi-day trips in the Adlerweg Tirol are there to explore.

There's the Adlerweg (the Eagles Trail) - a long-distance scenic hiking route crisscrossing the Tirol, bringing together the history of the country famous for views and tradition.

There are summer chairlifts and gondolas running to bring walkers straight to the good part of the hike, with the best Seenland views.

In a mere 5 minutes an 8-seater gondola takes walkers from the Familien und Blumendorf Reith im Alpbachtal up the Reither Kogel.

This walking area is ideal for families.

There's more fun and adventure to be discovered along Juppi Zauberwald, a 2.5km circular path with numerous play areas created in unspoiled nature along the way.

Alpbach is considered by many as being one of Austria's most authentically Tyrolean and beautiful villages.

Top three highlights:

The Tiefenbachklamm Gorge tour is a spectacular walk.

The Tiefenbach Gorge is found between Kramsach and Brandenberg.

Follow the Brandenberg stream through woodland past the weird and wonderful rock formations.

From the bridges that criss cross you over the stream catch sight of the canies below and after about 4km, you'll hit the Jausenstation Tiefenbachklamm meadow.

It's an hour-and-a-half walk to reach the famous gorge with its viewing platform.

Retrace your steps for home or continue for 20 minutes towards the Jausenstation Stegerstall for the bus.

The bizarre rock formations along the way are particularly stunning.

Lake Zireiner See is another hot spot to hit.

From Aschau/Wimm head for this idyllic lake on a summer's hike.

Along the Rosskogel ridge, it's a short stretch downhill through the Rosswies to the lake.

Make sure you stop for food at Anderl´s Hütte, or a little further down the route at Sonnwendjochberghaus (about a one-hour walk from Zireiner See).

The third highlight, not to miss, is the A40 panorama path to the Hornalm.

Take the Wiedersberghornbahn mountain lift and continue south along the ridge towards the "Sagtaler".

The 2,239m peak Standkopf is approximately 2.5 hours walking from the top station.

The same path leads to the Hornalm and a steep uphill track leading to the 2,128m Wiedersbergerhorn.

The views here are worth every step.

And then there's the Lauserland for kids, which is a fun mountain top playground with two mountain huts for snacks and drinks.

Don't forget the biking, relaxing, eating and drinking in the region, too.

We'll update soon with more highlights and must-visits...
