Luxury ski chalet company, VIP SKI, adds two new ones to its Alpe d'Huez portfolio & is looking forward to winter in situ.

VIP SKI is offering two more chalets in the French resort of Alpe d'Huez.

They are brand new, and named Eden East and Eden West.

First thing to mention about them is their killer location.

The Eden Blanc property sits at 2,000m - it makes it as snow-sure as you'll get for that chocolate-box village feel - in the Fontabelle area of Alpe d'Huez.

It's 100m to the shops, bars and restaurants - easy to get out, no noise if you're in... - and the ski lift is bang outside the property for the easiest of ski-commutes.

Eden West has views of the piste and the mountain from the living room and the bedroom balconies - sounds like a must for leisurely morning in on a sunny day.

The West chalet apartment sleeps 6-8 with three en suite bedrooms, one of which has bunk beds for those extra bodies (and these are charged at half the adult price).

It has an open fire and an elegant but comfortable living area for wintry evenings in.

Eden East is the smaller property with two bedrooms, each with a balcony, an en suite bathroom and flat screen TV.

We're thinking it's ideal for four friends or a small family looking for a private ski experience.

For big groups Eden West and Eden East can be booked together, meaning you can sleep 10-12 on the winter break.

Your host for the week will cook up breakfast, afternoon tea, as well as canapés on the first and last evening.

Then there's the 3 course evening meal on six of the nights, followed by a cheese board and of course French red and white wine.

A little about Alpe d'Huez

The resort is part of the Grandes Rousses massif, with neighbouring villages Auris-en-Oisans, Huez-en-Oisans, Oz-en-Oisans, Vaujany and Villard Reculas to explore.

The Sarenne Glacier is found here in Alpe d'Huez resort so there's glacier skiing, accessed by both an extension of the Marmottes gondola and by the Pic Blanc cable car.

For skiers and snowboarders wnting a challenge, try the Tunnel Run down the front face of the glacier or the infamous 16km Sarenne back to the central ski area.

There's also floodlit night skiing, cross country skiing on more than 50km of marked runs, two snowparks, 33 red slopes, 16 black runs and a boardercross.

The resort also prides itself on being a great one for first time skiers and boarders.

There is a great network of green runs just above the village, with seven mile-long ones leading back to the central station.

There are also more than 30 blue pistes, and two protected areas for very beginners.

Following the popularity of 'Marcel's Farm' in the Signal area, the green Chez Roger piste in the Bergers area has been transformed into a giant 'cool ski' zone.

Here you can practise slalom and ski through and around sheep-themed obstacles.

In Auris-en-Oisans, the Corniche run has been lined with sculptures and even a see-saw for fun on the way down.

One of the coolest additions - Alpe d'Huez also introduced a four-season toboggan run.

What is this, I hear you say?

It's a rollercoaster ride through the snow with special virtual reality where you'll experience exhilarating scenery as you ride.
