Snow chaos in North America

Heavy snowfalls in parts of the USA and most of Canada have caused severe disruption.

Travellers and holiday makers have had journeys disrupted and travel plans thrown into chaos by the cold snap.

According to the BBC   the weather has affected large parts of Western United States and virtually the whole of Canada has had a white Xmas, the first time for 37 years.

More snow and bad weather is set to follow.
