There's always something new to know about the mega ski resort that is Aspen.

And something new to explore each time across its four mountains:

Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands, Buttermilk and Snowmass.

From free food and drinks, to exclusive ambassador tours, here are 12 fun facts about Aspen Snowmass you might not know.

Can these inspire your next trip?

 1.       'Powder Pancakes' served when it dumps over 20cm of snow overnight

There is nothing quite like a powder day in Aspen...

Restaurants keep skiers fueled so they can enjoy a full day of shredding by serving free pancakes when the pow comes in.

 2.       Cloud Nine serves the most Veuve Clicquot in the USA

There's no better après ski destination in North America than at Cloud Nine Alpine Bistro on Aspen Highlands.

It sells more Veuve Clicquot than any other establishment in the US - now that's a claim.

Cloud Nine offers an experience like no other when the restaurant transforms after lunchtime into a huge party.

Complete with resident DJs and flowing champagne showers.

The experience is topped off with a beautiful backdrop view of the iconic Maroon Bells.

 3.       Random acts of donuts are served

Offered when least expected, Aspen Skiing Company shares the love to its skiers and snowboarders by giving out complimentary donuts.

This 'act' is locally known as 'random acts of donuts' during the winter.

This little bit of kindness is the perfect fuel to a day out on slopes.

4.       The Little Nell offers snowcat stargazing tours

The twinkling lights of Aspen create minimal light pollution and on a clear night, constellations, the Milky Way and even the occasional meteor are visible in the sky.

The Little Nell Hotel is one of Aspen's finest.

It offers private stargazing tours by snowcat with an astronomy expert, starting at the base of Aspen Mountain.

Under the star-strewn sky, the private powder cat ascends the slopes on Richmond Ridge to arrive at a cabin for refreshments and sweet treats to enjoy with spectacular views of the mountains and stars.

 5.       The Limelight Hotels offer exclusive ski experiences

Exclusive to Limelight Hotel guests:

Located in Aspen and most recently in Snowmass - complimentary on-mountain adventures are offered in partnership with the Ski & Snowboard Schools of Aspen Snowmass.

'Inside Tracks' provides the chance for skiers and snowboarders to ride alongside the pros, offering tips and assistance in a group setting.

Additionally, 'First Tracks' allows guests to enjoy exclusive access to the local mountains before the gondolas open to the general public each morning.

 6.       Visitors can enjoy free drinks all day on the mountains

They also provide complimentary suncream to help riders stay protected in the Colorado sunshine.

 8.       There's a 'snowlercoaster' on Snowmass

Aspen Snowmass unveiled an exciting new attraction last year, the Breathtaker Alpine Coaster.

Riders travel through a mile of forest on an elevated track at speeds of up to 28mph for 7-9 minutes.

Activity passes are available for $49 per person, which includes a two-hour session with access to tubing and the Alpine Coaster.

9.       Clicquot is served in the snow from the Aspen Oasis

Every ski season, Veuve Clicquot and The Little Nell come together to celebrate the high life on Aspen Mountain's slopes and at its base.

Aspen Oasis - the world's first on-mountain Champagne Bar - travels around the mountain offering drinks specials to skiers and visitors to enjoy Clicquot in the Snow.

It's a lively après-ski party at Ajax Tavern on a sun-soaked patio.

Both offer Veuve Clicquot specials ($17 a glass and $89 a bottle), food and music and are open Friday to Sunday.

10.   Buttermilk Mountain serves all things bacon on closing day

To thank the snow gods for yet another epic winter, Aspen Skiing Company hosts its annual 'Bacon Appreciation Day' at Buttermilk.

It's a schedule of all things bacon.

Including bacon waffles at the Cliffhouse, bacon samplers around the mountain throughout the day and a bacon and beer happy hour.

11.   There's even an event dedicated to pond-skimming

Taking place on Snowmass closing day, the annual Schneetag event invites teams of four to create silly skits and homemade sleds to pilot down a slope and attempt to jump, skim or float across a 70 by 20 foot pond.

12.   Aspen Highlands hosts one of the craziest closing parties

Aspen Highlands is the mountain local's love, with unrivalled views and perfect bowl-skiing.

There is a huge party held at the base area, with live DJ's, hilarious costumes and a festive atmosphere.
