Snow has been falling in the Alps as the half-term holiday starts. Now the sun is out. PlanetSKI reports from the Alps.






The weather has now cleared across the Alps.

On Wednesday the PlanetSKI editor, James Cove, was at the high altitude resort of Stubai in the Tirol in Austria.

With his eye on conditions elsewhere too:

The slopes of Stubai were near deserted, with a bit of fresh snow off piste too.

PlanetSKI reader Martin Dennant is in Alpe d'Huez in France.

"This week Sunday and Monday were cold, snowy and windy" he told us on Wednesday evening.

"The sun came out yesterday and the wind dropped off today.... similar forecast for the rest of the week.

"Lifts are busy this week especially now the sun is out - French and public school holiday."

Here was the snow in Lech in Austria on Monday morning.


On Tuesday the piste bashers were out in neighbouring St Anton preparing the slopes.
