Yes, we're excited already... Here are some interesting developments coming to the mountains:

Ski Solutions has gathered together some news giving us reason to get excited for next season.

There are changes, updates, expansions and developments on the cards.

When November comes around our favourite resorts will develop into even more brilliant winter playgrounds for us.

There's a multitude of infrastructure improvements planned and property constructions are already underway;

"Winter 2019/20 is already set to be a truly fantastic time to go skiing," Ski Solutions predicts.

"Every season must come to an end.

"That said, the summer break gives many of the resorts an opportunity to expand and improve their ski areas...

"...and there are lots of exciting new developments to look forward to for the 19/20 season."

So, without any looking back (yet) on what's been amazing during this season, let's give oursleves something to look ahead to for next.

Going Green

Climate change is a hot topic, especially so among the outdoor community and within the ski world.

Ski resorts are advocating 'Going Green' to reduce their carbon footprint and help combat climate change.

Serre Chevalier is among those at the forefront.

The resort is making technological advancements to help reduce its own damage to the environment and pave the way for other resorts.

The resort is using a combination of micro-wind turbine, photovoltaic and hydroelectric technology to help power its snowmaking canons and lifts across the valley.

Ski Solutions is offering 7 nights skiing in Serre Chevalier for £709pp from 4th January, 2020.

Price includes:
  • Flights
  • Accommodation
  • Transfer
  • 7 Nights
  • Hotel - Half Board
Across the pond, Vail Resorts has also just announced its new sustainability program.

It plans to incorporate these pro environment developments through its 15 major ski resorts that include Whistler, Heavenly and Park City.

Sölden will be investing in a swanky new high-capacity gondola to replace an old chairlift.

Passengers will be able to ascend the main glacier in under six minutes.

Westendorf in the SkiWelt area will also be improving one of its current lifts.

The new eight-seater chairlift will replace an older lift and will be able to take more passengers up the mountain at a much faster rate;

The new lifts will have solar panels to help make steps towards going green.

Sölden Sölden

An area expansion is happening in Andermatt, Switzerland.

Winter 2019/20 will see the connection of Andermatt and Sedrun with Disentis, taking the overall ski area from 120km to 180km.

'Weekend warriors' who love a ski weekend in Swizterland will welcome the news that over in the Jungfrau ski region an investment of almost £370m will help to cut transfer routes and times in half to many key resorts.
