A-BASIN RUNS SUMMER SNOW PARK SESSION
Friday July 12, 2019 - Email this article to a friend

Last weekend it was back to snowsports as Colorado's ski resort A-Basin took to winter riding in the summer snowpark.

Arapahoe Basin in Colorado opened a terrain park again this weekend surrounded by snow-covered slopes.

The A-Basin park was open the previous weekend as well, with 7 rails and features to play on.

It was so well enjoyed, why not run it all over again?

Skiing formally finished in the resort on 4th July.

Catch up here as several US ski resorts celebrated with skiing and snowboarding:
A-Basin wrote on its Facebook ahead of the weekend:

We have good news!

We are going to have the SummerTerrain Park open again this weekend.

We will be open from 11 - 2:30 pm Saturday and Sunday.

One Arapahoe Basin park rider commented on Facebook:

"The 4th was bomb!!!!

"Wish I could of been there Saturday," wrote @Aaron Birch

The park is stationed at the top of the High Noon run.

Though it might still look snowy on the hills not so long ago skied on, there's no skiing open on the mountain's slopes.

All responses are, quite simply, stoke.

Here we copy the united comments from Facebook underneath the news:

A few weeks we reported on the fresh snow falling in US ski areas on the first weekend of summer.

On 23rd June Steamboat in Colorado was covefred in nearly 60cm of snow.

Snow usually stops falling 6 weeks before this date in the Colorado ski area.

Now it's mid-July and there's a lot of snow still to melt.

Mountain resorts are reporting they haven't seen this much snow, this late on in summer for eight years.

This is usually the start of the hottest time of year in resorts in the area.
